Art Rotterdam reviews

Thijs' presentation at Art Rotterdam hasn't been unnoticed by artbloggers.

Domeniek Ruyters lists Thijs' presentation at the stand of Kunstruimte Wagemans in his top 8.83 of Art Rotterdam.

The chief-editor of one of the Netherlands leading art magazines writes at the Metropolis M blog:

"The tradition of Dutch genre art rivives in Thijs Jansen in a way I currently see no other one do it. There is no artist (not even a photographer) who makes the current sadness of the Netherlands so strikingly visible."

Wim Noordhoek of VPRO Radio gives a nice interpretation of the "underpants-series" at his avondlog.

"She was in a hurry, she was not alone, or exhausted and fell into bed. I don't think Chantal ever puts her panties neatly on chairs. (...) What this has to do with painting? Everything, it seems to me. Thijs Jansen sees the logos, the unobserved marks of his own time."
